Alec Baldwin who was previously charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter for the accidental fatal shooting of cinematographer on the set of ‘Rust’, is saved from jail after the charges have been dropped.
His attorneys Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro made a statement, “We are pleased with the decision to dismiss the case against Alec Baldwin and we encourage a proper investigation into the facts and circumstances of this tragic accident.”
Despite reports that say former Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed will also have charges dropped, the prosecutors say, “Charges against Hannah Gutierrez-Reed remain unchanged.”
A virtual status hearing has been set for Friday in Santa Fe.
According to the Associated Press, producers are now ready to start filming again. It’s been a year and half since the horrific incident. Baldwin will be joining but still fights an uphill legal battle. They will film in the Yellowstone Film Ranch in Montana as reported by The Vulture.
