Her aim is to foster a virtual community of health-conscious individuals who wish to live better, independent of constant medical intervention, and sift through the morass of conflicting health information on the internet.
Born into a typical Vietnamese household that perceived American foods such as Twinkies and spam as ‘healthy’, Dr. Brisco’s path to wellness was not a straightforward one. However, health traumas within her family, particularly the strokes suffered by her mother and younger brother, triggered a personal health crisis. Learning about her high cholesterol levels and recognizing the consequences of her largely unhealthy diet she was thrust onto the path of transformation.
By taking her health into her own hands, Brisco has extended her scope beyond her own lifestyle changes, with an aim to mobilize a broader shift in societal attitudes towards health and wellness. Despite the obstacles related to privacy and safety in maintaining a public image, she uses her influence as a model and former beauty queen (She was crowned Ms. Woman California United States in 2021 and 2022 and was the first runner-up in the Miss United States pageant) to promote the benefits of self-care, good nutrition, and exercise.
Dr. Brisco’s endeavors are not confined to the catwalk. With her medical expertise, she understands the seamless interplay between science and artistry, constantly challenging traditional approaches to healthcare. Through her platform, she encourages others to think outside the box, stress on self-care, and treat lifestyle as medicine.
Following her family’s health scares, she committed to a lifestyle change that saw her embrace regular physical exercise, a healthier eating plan, and the practice of meditation. Even amidst the increased risk of certain health concerns prevalent in the Black population she strongly believes in the power of lifestyle to modify health outcomes.

Despite her age and genetics presenting potentially serious health risks, her unwavering commitment to a healthy diet and regular exercise helped her avoid medication that treats metabolic disorders – an achievement that won her recognition from her own physician.
Her story is not just another inspirational anecdote but a call to action. It is a testament to what individuals can achieve when they take control of their health and make essential lifestyle modifications, even when faced with genetic predispositions or age-related vulnerabilities.
With several editorial photo shoots in the pipeline, runway shows in New York and London Fashion Week to name a few, and an upcoming billboard in West Hollywood,. Brisco’s star is poised to shine brighter than ever. But for her, these accolades only highlight what’s truly important – her dedication to promoting a healthier lifestyle and transforming the way people look at vision care and healthcare.
As she said, recalling her family’s health struggles, “It’s really scary for me that it’s in my genes, that’s my DNA. I’m at risk for everything. That’s a call to action for me.”
